CPR/AED/First Aid
Description
All staff working directly with children and families must be certified in infant, child, and adult CPR, the use of an emergency AED device, and basic First Aid. The course will teach the skills for non-medical professionals to be able to assist in basic medical emergencies. Staff will be able to provide CPR, use an AED, and deal with basic health emergencies such as asthma, life-threatening bleeding, anaphylaxis, heat and cold related emergencies, shock, choking, and more. This training will equip direct service providers with the knowledge and skills to immediately assist in the health emergencies of their clients and will be familiar with the protocol to initiate emergency services when needed. Upon completion, attendee’s will be certified in the American Red Cross Adult, Child & Infant CPR/AED/First Aid course for two years.
