Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA)

Description

Youth Mental Health First Aid training provides participants with the tools and knowledge to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders in adolescents. Through a series of interactive sessions, participants learn about common mental health challenges among youth, explore risk factors and warning signs, and practice strategies for providing initial support and connecting young individuals to appropriate professional help. This training empowers individuals to make a positive difference in the lives of young people by fostering early intervention and reducing stigma surrounding mental health.

Fifty participant manuals and virtual participant processing guides were purchased for future sessions, one session planned for June 2024. These supplies are required by the National Council for Wellbeing and are necessary for pre-training set up.
