Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC)-Virtual
Description
This training will provide attendees with information about Awareness and Prevention on the topic of Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC) in the US and local communities. Attendees will be provided with valuable tools and resources that empower them to make a difference in the effort to eradicate exploitation of children.
CSEC (Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children) awareness and prevention are critical issues that can significantly impact foster youth, who are often more vulnerable to exploitation due to their unique circumstances. Foster youth are often at heightened risk for being exploited due to various factors:
-
Trauma and Abuse: Many foster children have experienced trauma, neglect, or abuse, making them more susceptible to grooming and manipulation by predators
-
Instability: Frequent moves between homes can lead to feelings of isolation, which some exploiters prey on
-
Lack of Support Networks: The absence of a stable family support system makes foster youth more vulnerable to those who offer false promises of love, belonging, or financial support
