Trauma Informed Care

Description

Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) is an essential framework for working with foster youth, supporting resource families, and caring for vulnerable children. This approach emphasizes understanding the widespread impact of trauma on children’s behavior and emotional health, and it creates an environment that promotes safety, trust, and healing. When implemented correctly, Trauma-Informed Care helps foster youth process past trauma, builds resilience, and ensures resource families are equipped with the tools to provide the best care. Participants will learn to recognize the signs of trauma in themselves and others, including in children and families. This training teaches about Adverse Childhood Experiences: what they are, their outcomes, and how to problem solve with children to help them become resilient in the face of trauma.
