Removing Shame and Stigma Training: Understanding the Brain and Disease of Addiction to Support Foster Youth-Virtual
Description
This training will equip care managers, providers and trainers with training and education on how to refrain from shaming and stigmatizing their clients, understand the disease of addiction and how it directly impacts the brain, and recognize an overdose and the importance of administering naloxone at care facilities, where our most vulnerable populations receive service at.
This training is designed for those in the helping profession, who provide services to foster youth, resource families or families at-risk of entering the child welfare system. This training will help attendees provide exceptional support when providing direct services to the children, youth, and families with whom they work. This training will also increase the safety of the clients in their care, because it will equip them with the knowledge of recognizing an overdose and steps to respond, in order to save a life.
